Action to be taken if official files misplaced: Chief Secretary

NAMCHI: Chief Secretary A.K. Shrivastava had a coordination meeting with heads of departments at DAC South, Namchi. Present amongst others were ADC (South) Satyen K. Pradhan along with senior officials.
Speaking during the meeting, the chief secretary spoke about the importance of punctuality, hard work and assiduousness that the government employees should imbibe in their day to day affairs. He also strictly directed that files under concerned departments should be maintained and if certain files is found misplaced than action will be taken against the respective government officials as he underlined that these files contains important documents pertaining to projects, schemes, plans, employees track records and many more. He also informed that government employees should adhere to the new notification regarding the office timing which is from 10 am to 4: 30 pm, five days a week apart from every Saturday of the month being a holiday. He also urged the government employees to be efficient in providing their services to the general public and quoted ‘we are public servants and not masters of public’.
He also informed that the State government will soon launch ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyaan’ which will focus on water conservation, rain water harvesting and rejuvenation of natural water bodies with an aim to reverse water crises in the country. With regards to water harvesting unit he emphasised that all the State government building and departments have to install this unit in order to save water for future use and said that the south district administration head should look upon this on a priority basis.
