Mumbai: A third-generation Rotarian, originally from Kerala, Advocate Nikhita Sunil became the district Rotaract representative of the Rotaract District 3141 at an event attended by over 1200 people held at the Birla Matushri Auditorium at New Marine Lines in Mumbai.

First Kerala Woman to Lead Rotaract Club

The district has more than 140 clubs and over 12000 members. The district covers the areas of Churchgate and CST in Mumbai and the Mumbai suburbs of Mulund and Mankhurd in Maharashtra.

Rotaract is Rotary’s youth wing. Nikhita is a third-generation Rotarian, the daughter of social workers Rakhee and Sunil and the granddaughter of the well-known personality Advocate Padma Divakar (Retd IRS). On the first day of her taking on the mantle of DRR, the district distributed more than 1,000 food packets to homeless people.

Furthermore, a blood donation drive was organised, a testament to the commitment to the community, where bottles of blood were collected, potentially saving lives.

Nikhita is a proud Mumbaikar and strongly believes that one should give back to society in whatever little way possible.
