Jaipur: On Sunday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar remarked that it is necessary to stop forces that prioritise political and private interests over country interests.

“It is being seen that some people keep personal and political interests above the national interest. Those forces who keep political and personal interests above the nation should be stopped. Being Indian is our identity, and nation first is our priority. Our resolve should be that we should not give up nationalism under any circumstances,” said the Vice President while speaking to the audience at a memorial service for the families of Jaipur body donors, which was sponsored by the Jain Social Groups (JSG) Central Sansthan, Jaipur, and Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti, Delhi.

Speaking on the 1975 Emergency, the Vice President stated that it was a “dark chapter” and that the Union government had decided to mark “Sanvidhan Hatya Diwas” to educate the younger generation about its drawbacks.

“It is important to observe “Sanvidhan Hatya Diwas” to apprise the young generation of the flaws of the 1975 Emergency. There came a period when fundamental rights were abolished. Supreme Court also failed to render its duty. The dictatorial attitude of the executive was at its peak,” the Vice President said.

Organ donation, a spiritual activity

At the same time, the Vice President emphasised the immense importance of organ donation, characterising it as a spiritual endeavour and the pinnacle of moral human nature.

He stated that giving an organ reflects the highest ideals of compassion and selflessness and transcends mere material charity.

The Vice President asked citizens to make a conscious effort to transform organ donation into a mission that aligns with the honourable tradition of assisting humanity.

Highlighting the theme of World Organ Donation Day, “Be the Reason for Someone’s Smile Today,” he urged everyone to devote themselves and their families to the admirable cause of organ donation.
