Shirdi (Maharashtra): The grandeur of the Raksha Bandhan celebrations, marked by a devotee offering a 35 kg Rakhi at the feet of Sai Baba at the Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi, Maharashtra, was a sight to behold.
On this special occasion, a devotee offered 35 kg Rakhi at the feet of Sai Baba at the Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi, Maharashtra.
Prabodh Rao of the Saimouli family of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, dedicated a grand Rakhi to Sai Baba, 36 feet long and 5 feet wide, weighing about 35 kg.
Prabodh Rao said that artist Dilip Diwakar Patrikar made this Rakhi in 10 days. Fiber ply, pearl, zari, boots, etc., were used in this work.
This Rakhi incorporates the theme of nine coins given by Sai Nath to Lakshmibai.
Each coin represents a feature of Navadha Bhakti of Srimad Bhagwat and Ramcharitmanas.
