Jhansi’s Rachna Became ‘Lakhpati Didi’ With the Help of Organic Farming

Jhansi: Women are becoming empowered and self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi Scheme of the Central Government.

Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission in Jhansi, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Karila Mata Mahila Self-Help Group women are reaping the rewards of their hard work.

 Now listen to Rachna’s story about how she earns profit by doing organic farming. To do organic farming, they must work less hard in the fields than before. Rachna says that people’s inclination towards organic vegetables is increasing. The effect is that the village people now buy vegetables from the fields. Due to this, their earnings are also getting better.
