Mumbai: Bollywood star Govinda, who got injured after his gun misfired on October 1 morning, has been discharged from the hospital.

Shutterbugs photographed Govinda while he was exiting the hospital. He was sitting in a wheelchair and had a cast around his leg. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, was standing next to him.

Despite the incident, Govinda maintained a positive attitude. When greeted by the shutterbugs outside the hospital, he folded his hands, waved, and even blew kisses at the paparazzi, showing his resilience and determination to recover.

On Thursday, his wife shared the actor’s health update and said that Govinda would soon be discharged.

On October 2, Govinda was shifted to the general ward from the ICU. His manager, Shashi Sinha, shared that the police had taken the statement of the actor’s daughter, Tina. He also claimed that the actor’s statement had yet to be taken.

The incident occurred when the actor was cleaning his closet, and his licensed gun misfired, accidentally shooting him in the foot. The misfiring was attributed to a broken part of the gun’s lock.

As per sources, the actor was set to head to Kolkata, but before that, he thought of organising his closet when the incident happened because of the gun’s broken lock.

At the time of the incident, there were six bullets loaded, and one misfired into his foot, after which he was immediately rushed to the hospital in Juhu.

During his hospital stay, Govinda received a visit from Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, who quietly showed her support by visiting him. She chose not to speak to the media and instead walked directly into the hospital building.

Actress Kashmera Shah, the wife of Govinda’s nephew actor Krushna Abhishek, also expressed her concern by visiting Govinda. She arrived quickly in a car, showing the urgency of the situation, and chose not to speak to the media, reflecting the seriousness of the incident for her family.

Krushna Abhishek, Govinda’s nephew, also took to his Instagram to share a health update about his maternal uncle. He expressed, “Mama is feeling better now. Thank you all for your prayers and love. I wish him a speedy recovery. God is kind. Please let your prayers keep pouring in.”
