New Delhi: 211 Ft Tall Ravana.  The tradition of burning Ravana on Dussehra is several years old.

Ravana of Dwarka in New Delhi remains the centre of attraction for the people of Delhi.

Dwarka Shri Ramlila Society has prepared an effigy of Ravana in Dwarka Sector 10.

The organisers claim this Ravana is the biggest in Delhi and the world.

Preparing it took four months, and 40 artists worked hard. Half of Ravana was constructed in Ambala, and the rest was completed in Dwarka.

Initially, Ravana’s height used to be 60 to 70 feet. However, Ravana’s height has gradually increased over the years.

Dwarka Shri Ramlila Society has been organising Ramlila for the last 14 years. Its 3D-designed long stage is also very eye-catching.

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come twice to see this Ramlila. This time, too, invitations have been given to the leaders of many parties, including the Prime Minister and the President.

Vijayadashami, more commonly known as Dussehra and also known as Dasara or Dashain, is a major Hindu festival celebrated every year at the end of Durga Puja and Navaratri. The festival symbolises the triumph of good over evil and marks the end of nine nights of Navratri and Durga Puja. It is celebrated with the burning of the effigy of the demon king Ravana, along with his son Meghnath and brother Kumbhkaran; it also marks the victory of Lord Ram over Ravana and his forces.
