Today Pakistan announced that they will free 51 Indian fishermen who have already completed their jail term in Pakistan prisons as a goodwill gesture. Prime minister decided to release them on the basis of humanity and as a goodwill gesture as all of them have already completed their full-term in jail.

Khoso, Pakistan prime minister is full of hope that India will reciprocate to this action by freeing Pakistan prisoners in Indian Jail. It is not clear yet that when the prisoners will be repatriated actually.

This diplomatic decision was taken in a meeting attended by Ahmed Bilal Soofi, Interim Law Minister, senior ministers from Foreign and law ministry and Prime Minister’s secretariat. There are 496 Pakistani prisoners in Indian jail where as 482 Indians are serving their term in Pakistan jail.

Anyway, Pakistan government is still awaiting the national status confirmation of remaining Indian prisoners. Foreign ministry has been directed to initiate the talks with India for returning Indian prisoners as well as releasing their Pakistani counterparts.

This move to free prisoners came soon after the brutal murder of Sabarjit Singh in Lahore jail and a counter attack on Sanaullah in Kashmir jail following which both were succumbed to injuries and death. The death of both inmates had an impact on the neutral relation going on between both countries.

Earlier this year the relation went tense along LOC, when beheaded body of a soldier was found. Nawas Sharif, who is all set to become the Prime Minister soon has complete hope on boosting up bilateral process of peace.
