Tornado hits Oklahoma, 51 feared dead

A monstrous tornado hit Oklahoma City on Monday afternoonkilling at least 51, destroying an elementary school and leaving massive destruction on its trail. Mostly, children are among the dead and about 120 people are hospitalized with the death toll feared to increase more. Search operations are going on within the debris of Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore that crumbled down with students trapped possibly inside. 
 
Local television channel footages showed more levelled houses and buildings with a funnel cloud that stretched from sky to the ground. The rescue work described as a recovery effort, is going on where heart-broken parents are kept at vicinity from the school site, who hope that children are still alive inside. 
 
The tornado- ripped through array of buildings at such a roaring speed damaging block after block with trucks and cars thrown away at high speed. The killer storm lashed the city with an ear-shattering howl and the landscape soon turned into a junkyard with glass piece, metals, and rubbles scattered all along. 
 
Barack Obama called government officials at Oklahoma to express his grief and he directed the concerned authorities to provide all support and assistance needed. A special team of FEMA is on the way to destructed site to help out in emergency operations. 
 
This is considered to be the deadliest US tornado since 1990. Open gas lines and downed power supplies add further threat to the situation. National Weather Service rated this damage as EF4, the second most worst on a scale of 0 to 5.
