Media Eye News Bureau: Marvel gave an extended sneak peek look at Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios' Cloak & Dagger. It is the story of Tandy Bowen played by Olivia Holt and Tyrone Johnson portrayed by Aubrey Joseph, who are two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves with newly acquired superpowers that are linked to one another as Tandy can emit piercing light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to control and engulf others in darkness.
Both characters made their debut in a 1982 issue of Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man, going on to become Spidey’s allies. The pair has headlined their standalone books as well, as they appeared in the Marvel Knights series, and joined the fight in Marvel Comics' Civil War event, where they fought alongside Captain America and his team.
The show also stars Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, MCarl Lundstedt, James Saito, J.D. Evermore, Emma Lahana and Jaime Zevallos as well.
Joe Pokaski is the executive producer along with Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of Television and Jim Chory. The series is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.
Freeform announced that Cloak & Dagger will debut on June 7. The show will mark Freeform's fifth show inspired by Marvel Comics to air in 2018, following Runaways on Hulu, Legion on FX, Jessica Jones on Netflix and The Gifted on FOX.
