Media Eye News Bureau: Karni Sena leaders Lokendra Singh Kalvi and Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi who spearheaded the protest against Padmaavat, issued a clarification that the protest against the film will continue after it had been reported that the Mumbai branch of the Shree Rashtriya Karni Sena had withdrawn their protest against the film.
The Mumbai branch had issued a letter signed by Mumbai leader Yogendra Singh regarding the withdrawal of the protest after its members observed that the movie glorified Rajputs. Gogamedi however, denied having taken the move and said that no such direction was issued to the Mumbai branch. He further stated that the letter is not authentic and that he has expelled all the people whose names and signatures were on the letter as well.
The protest against the film first commenced on the grounds that the movie allegedly distorted history.
