Canadian PM visits India

Media Eye News Bureau: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Delhi and will commence his week-long visit in the country. His visit is aimed at deepening ties with India.

Trudeau said that the visit was in view to focus on creating good jobs and strengthening the ‘deep connection between the people’ of the two countries.

Both Trudeau and Modi will discuss matters of defence and security cooperation, counter-terror cooperation, trade and investment and tackling climate change as well as India's concerns over rising Sikh radicalism in Canada. They are reportedly set to make forward movement in firming up the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries. A number of Canadian pension funds are also keen to invest in India as well.

Besides Trudeau his cabinet colleagues including Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains, Defence MInister Harjit Singh Sajjan, Science and Sports Minister Kirsty Duncan and Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi will also be visiting India.
