Modi called upon the Indian Institutes of Technology for ideas in agriculture and expressed, “These really work, believe me. Their solutions have worked in other areas of governance.” He added, “Just like the entire country has pathology labs in the health sector, we could set up a network of soil-testing labs.”

He also said that the government would seriously look into suggestions that were made in the conference as well.

He further stated that his government would be allotting Rs. 80,000 crore to ensure that 99 irrigation schemes stuck for 25 to 30 years were completed within fresh deadlines and that about 50% of those would be completed by this year itself.
