Disgraced actor Kevin Spacey’s charitable organization, the Kevin Spacey Foundation in the United Kingdom, is shutting down.
The charity offered scholarships, awards and educational programs for young people interested in the performing arts. A statement on the foundation’s U.K. website read as the trustees decided to shut it down since the work of the foundation “is no longer viable.”
They thanked their partners, artists and other organizations “for the great work that has been done in association with the Foundation.” And added that they hoped that the objectives of the charity “will be taken forward by other organizations.”
The announcement comes months after Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct in October, followed by other allegations of misbehaviour as well as racism. The House of Cards star was also fired from the Netflix series and replaced in Ridley Scott’s film All the Money in the World as well.
