Telangana Assembly chairman Swamy Goud was injured when a Congress lawmaker threw a headphone on the speaker's podium in the House.
Goud was sharing the podium with Governor ESL Narasimhan and speaker of the Legislative Assembly Sirikonda Madhusudana Chary when he took a direct hit on his eye when Congress MLA Komati Reddy Venkatareddy threw headphones meant for the MLAs on the speaker's podium.
The governor was delivering an address to the combined session of both the Houses on the first day of the budget session.
The headphone first hit a Mahatma Gandhi photo frame and landed on Goud. The chairman was then given first aid at the Assembly's infirmary and later taken to Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital.
