Cambridge Analytica has sought one more week to respond to the government's notice on whether it was involved in misuse of data to profile Indians and influence their voting behaviour.

The notice had gone out to Cambridge Analytica over media reports about questionable practices attributed to the firm in its efforts to allegedly influence elections by harvesting data of Facebook users globally.

It has been reported that Cambridge Analytica has now sought an additional time of one week to send its response to the notice issued by the Indian government.

Cambridge Analytica and Facebook came under fire after the British firm was accused of harvesting personal information of over 50 million Facebook users illegally to influence polls in several countries.
