The Supreme Court today stated that the death of Judge B H Loya, who was handling the case against BJP President Amit Shah at the time of his death, will not be investigated further. The Supreme Court also rejected seven public pleas for appointing a special team for investigation.

Justice Loya died on December 1, 2014 when he was going through the fake encounter case against Amit Shah. Judge Loya reportedly collapsed and died while attending a marriage function in Nagpur.

The top court said that Judge Loya died due to natural causes and also asserted that they would not encourage these type of  cases fuelled by conspiracies.

The bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra said that the petitions are intended to malign the judicial system of the country. The bench observed that it would be ideal to begin contempt proceedings against the petitioners.
