Opposition aims for a uni

Janata Dal (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy met Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and both parties decided to stay together keeping in mind the need of an opposition unity in the upcoming 2019 elections.

The leaders met together in Rahul Gandhi's residence in Delhi for the first time since the political dramas are over in Karnataka. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal who is also the in-charge of Karnataka also attended the meeting.

Kumaraswamy later said that he arrived in Delhi to show his respect and courtesy to the Gandhi family. He added that he invited both to the swearing-in ceremony.

The opposition leaders aim to rally a strong opposition unity against Narendra Modi and Amit Shah through this oath taking ceremony. CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and many other opposition leaders will be attending the function.
