Heavy rain disrupts Mumba

Mumbai, the city which already tasted the initial part of the much long rain rich monsoon, will receive a further amount of rain in the coming hours. The southwest monsoon had hit the state yesterday and more rain has been forecast in Mumbai and South Maharashtra today.

Heavy rain lashed out in Mumbai as the city received 7595 cm rain in the last 12 hours. The city has been under high alert as there will be more rain in the next 48 hours.

The monsoon becomes stronger in Maharashtra and Goa and most of the low-lying areas are waterlogged. Parel, Kurla, Hindmata, Mahim are the areas in Mumbai that are worsely affected by the heavy rain.

Transportation services are also highly disrupted as the rain affected the suburban train services. Train services are not cancelled yet, but most of the trains are late by 15-20 minutes. Two flights cancelled its services due to heavy rain and 32 flights have been delayed.

Three units of the DIsaster Management Force have been deployed in the city to initiate rescue operations in case of any emergency requirements.
