Severe rain as part of the south west monsoon causes miseries in Kerala as many people, especially in Idukki and Wayanad districts, feel the sufferings. Alert system has been given to the people on the banks of Thodupuzha river and Moovattupuzha river as there is a probability to open the shutter of the Malankara dam.
Extended rain has raised the water level in the Neyyar dam to its maximum capacity in a situation where its shutter might be opened at any time. So the officials have given strict alert to people and restricted them going to the Karamana river, Neyyar and Killiyar river.
