When the heart is pure and is filled with divinity, when the urge to attain to the Lord is utmost, the surge of devotion comes out as divine nectar-like songs. Mrs. Parvathy Seshanandan, 95-year-old, a native of Kerala and a resident of Matunga in Mumbai, has composed several devotional songs over the years and eight of them were released at  the Matunga Mysore Association hall amidst a gathering of over 150 people.

 

  

 

The songs written by Mrs.Parvathy includes on Lord Siddhivinayaka, Muruga, Ayyappa, Kanchi Mahaswami and on Bhagawat Gita. She is a devotee of  Lord Ayyappa and has been making a pilgrimage since 35 years. The writer was born in Thiruppanithura in Kerala, in May 1923 and moved to then Bombay after her marriage in 1940.

 

 

She has composed more than 30 songs till now. Eight of the songs were recorded in Bahrain and were played here accompanied by commentary and anecdotes related to her compositions. Her daughter Kalyani Tripurasundari who lives in Bahrain hosted the show. 

Her son S. Sivasubramanian said these lyrics were written 30 years ago and today we are pleased to see so much response to hear her songs. Even at this age, she regularly visits Sri Shankara Mattam, he said.
