Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has landed in a controversy after he was being caught in a tape ordering someone to "mercilessly kill" as a revenge for the death of his local party leader. The death order has referred to the killing of H Prakash, a local leader from Mandya, the stronghold of Kumaraswamy's Janata Dal Secular or JDS.
The video clips, recorded by local journalists, reveal that he is telling someone to kill those persons mercilessly in a shootout who came on bike and killed their local leader.
"He (H Prakash) was a good man. I don't know who killed him in this way. Kill the miscreant mercilessly in a shootout. There would be no problem," he is heard saying in video clips recorded by local journalists.
Later the CM came out himself with justifications and termed it as an emotional reaction. He explained that his reactions are purely emotional and never gave any instructions to kill murderers in a shootout.
