India wrote history in Australia as they became the first ever Asian team to win a test series down under. The fourth and final test at the Sydney ended in a draw after the steady rain forces the officials to abandon the match, eventually led to Team India to win the series who already have a 2-1 lead.

Chetheswar Pujara became the player of the series with three hundreds and amassed 521 runs and bagged the player of the match award as well.

The rain has not only washed away the entire day's play, but India's dreams of winning the Sydney test after reaching so close to it. India scored a mammoth 622/7 in the first innings with the help of Chetheswar Pujara's brilliant 193 and Rishabh Pant's flawless 159 not out as well. All rounder Ravindra Jadeja (81) and opener Mayank Agarwal (77) also made useful contributions.

In return, Australia started on a positive note as openers Usman Khawaja and Marcus Harris resisted the early burst from Indian seamers.  But they lost their plot later and bowled out for 300 in the first innings. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav claimed his first fiver-for outside the subcontinent and justified his selection.

With a lead of 322 runs in hand, Indian skipper Virat Kohli decided to enforce the follow-on, considering the Aussies' vulnerability with the bat and the unpredictable weather as well.

But the bad light and merciless rain have ensured that India won't go back with a 3-1 lead and has to satisfy with 2-1.
