West Indies Cricket player Chris Gayle has announced his retirement from the International Cricket. The "Universe Boss", which he is fondly called, said that he would hang his boots from One-day Internationals following the World Cup in England and Wales in May-June.

Gayle is one of the most destructive batsmen in the shortest format of the game in modern-day Cricket. He took all the bowlers he faced to the cleaners and more than capable of taking away the game from the opposition in the initial overs itself.

The West Indian so far has played 284 ODIs where he scored 9727 runs and hit 23 hundreds and 49 fifties. He also played in 103 Tests and 56 T20Is.

Chris Gayle is the only batsman who recorded a triple hundred in Test Cricket, a double hundred in ODI Cricket and a century in T20 Cricket as well. His 215 against Zimbabwe during the 2015 World Cup was the first double hundred in the World Cup.

Gayle features in the Indian Premier League and a regular entertainer whenever he takes the willow on to the field.
