On Tuesday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh endorsed an rise in the amount of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadet awards from current 143 to 243 as well as money incentives in different categories.

The NCC's complete number of staff rose from 11,31,083 in 2014 to 13,29,202 in 2018. Following the rise in entitlements, two Raksha Mantri Padaks each carrying money awards of Rs 30,000 will be awarded annually against one such award carrying a Rs 20,000 incentive previously.

Four Raksha Mantri Commendations worth Rs 20,000 each will be provided against three Rs 15,000 each previous commendations. 

The award value of the 10 Commendations of the Defense Secretary has risen from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000, while the Commendations of the Director General have risen substantially from the current 102 to 200.

In addition, in separate categories, nine fresh best cadet awards were launched. From 18 to 27, the complete amount of best cadet awards has risen. There was also an increase in cash incentives connected to each prize.
