Omar Abdullah Cautioned

Srinagar:Omar Abdullah, former Jammu and Chief Minister of Kashmir, said today that the government's decision to cancel Article 370 was a "complete betrayal of the people's confidence" and that it was "aggression." Home Minister Amit Shah notified the legislature that Article 370 — which conferred Jammu and Kashmir unique status — was repealed with the President signing an at "once order". Jammu and Kashmir will also be "reorganized," Mr Shah said, with the bifurcation of the state into two union regions, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

National Conference leader Mr Abdullah has been under house arrest since last night's late.

Leader of the People's Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti also objected to the decision to scrap Article 370 as "the darkest day in Indian democracy."
