CPI(M) Secretary General Sitaram Yechury said Friday that he and his CPI colleague D Raja were arrested on Friday at Srinagar airport and refused admission to the town. The representatives of the Left went to Srinagar to meet with their peers in the party.
"They showed us a legal order that did not permit any entry to Srinigar. It indicated that, owing to safety factors, even escorted movement within the town was not allowed. We still try to negotiate with them," He said.
On Thursday, Yechury and General Secretary of the CPI Raja wrote to Satya Pal Malik informing him of their visit and asking him to allow their entry.
