66th National Film Awards

The 66th National Film Awards announcement took place at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi. Earlier today, the members of the jury presented their report with their final suggestions in different categories to Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar.

The awards will be announced in April each year and the ceremony will take place in May . But this year, in the aftermath of general elections, the awards were delayed.

Prakash Javadekar said, "For the last two months that they have made a lot of efforts. I'm sure that they would pick the best movies, the finest directors. They're going to announce that at today's press conference. This is the 66th year of film awards and they have turned into a prestigious institution."

 

The Best Film – Gujarati film Hellaro.

The Best Actor – Andhadhun actor Ayushmann Khurrana & Uri actor Vicky Kaushal.

The Best Actress – Mahanati actor Keerthy Suresh.

The Best Director – Uri director Aditya Dhar.

The Best Debut Film Director –Naal Director  Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti.

The Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration- Kannada film Ondalla Eradalla.

The Best Film on Social Issues award- Padman.

The Best Popular Film providing wholesome entertainment award – Badhaai Ho.

The Best Film on Environment Conversation – Mararthi film Paani.

The Best Supporting Actor –  Swanand Kirkire for Chumbak

The Best Child Artist award – P V Rohith for Ondalla Eradalla (Kannada), Sameep Singh for Harjeeta (Punjabi), Talha Arshad Reshi for Hamid (Urdu) and Shrinivas Pokale for Naal (Marathi).

The Best Male Playback Singer award – Arijit Singh for Padmaavat song "Binte Dil".

The Best Female Playback Singer – Bindhu Malini for Nathicharami song "Maayavi Manave".

The Best Dialogue award – Bengali film Tarikh.

The Best Adapted Screenplay award – Andhadhun.

The Best Original Screenplay award – Rahul Ravindran for Telugu film Chi La Sow.

The Best Sound Designer award – Bishwadeep Chatterjee for Uri: The Surgical Strike. 

The Best Production Design award – Malayalam film Kammara Sambhavam.

The Best Costume Designer award – Telugu film Mahanati.

The Best Makeup Artist award – Telugu film Awe.

The Best Music Director award – Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Padmaavat.

The Best Lyrics award – Mansore for Kannada film Nathicharami song "Maayavi Manave". 

The Best Special Effects award  – Telugu film Awe and Kannada film KGF.

The Best Choreography award – Kruti Mahesh Midya and Jyoti D Tommar for Padmaavat song "Ghoomar".

The Best Action award – Vikram More and Anbu Ariv for Kannada film KGF.

The Best Punjabi Film award – Harjeeta.

The Best Assamese Film award – Bulbul Can Sing.

The Best Tamil Film award – to Baaram.

The Best Malayalam Film award – Sudani From Nigeria.

The Best Telugu Film award – Mahanati.

The Best Urdu Film award – Hamid.

The Best Marathi Film -Bhonga.

The Best Hindi Film award – Andhadhun.

The Best Rajasthani film award – to Turtle.
