Mumbai: On Monday, two-termCongress MLA  and former minister of Maharashtra Abdul Sattar joined the Shiv Sena. Sattar, who represents the seat of the Sillod Assembly in the district of Aurangabad, joined the Sena at the residence of the latter in the presence of party chief Uddhav Thackeray. He resigned as Congress MLA before the general elections held earlier this year and helped the then BJP state president Raosaheb Danve, who won from Jalna Lok Sabha constituency, which covers the Sillod Assembly segment.

"I would like to see the Sena victory from the constituency of the Sillod Assembly. It's a significant place for us," journalists here informed the Sena leader. In latest weeks, several opposition Congress and NCP politicians have joined either the BJP or the Sena. Next month is elections for the Maharashtra Assembly are due.
