Another IAS officer quits

Bengaluru: On Friday, a Deputy Commissioner in Karnataka, Sasikanth Senthil, resigned from the IAS or Indian Administrative Service, stating in a letter that "the fundamental building  blocks of democracy are being compromised in an unprecedented way." The deputy commissioner of the Dakshina Kannada district is the second high-profile official to resign within weeks. It simply cannot be business as usual anymore," the bureaucrat wrote in an open letter, apologising to the people for "discontinuing the job". A 2009 batch Karnataka cadre officer, Mr Senthil had taken charge in Dakshina Karnataka two years ago.
