Mumbai: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for three metro lines, adding more than 42 km to Mumbai's metro network. The three corridors are 9.2 km long Gaimukh to Shivaji Chowk (Mira Road) Metro-10 corridor, 12.7 km long Wadala to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Metro-11 corridor and 20.7 km long Kalyan to Taloja Metro-12 corridor.

The Prime Minister also set the foundation stone for a state-of – the-art Metro Bhavan that will function and control about 340 km of 14 metro lines. 

PM Modi opened the Bandongri Metro Station in Kandivali East during his visit. He also launched a state-of – the-art metro coach, the first metro coach under the initiative Make in India. The Prime Minister also released a Maha Mumbai Metro Brand Vision Document at a function here.
