Gorakhpur: In an odd incident, a woman sat down on a pair of snakes while talking on the phone, bitten and died minutes later. The incident took place on Wednesday in the village of Riyanv in Gorakhpur.
Gita, Jai Singh Yadav's wife who works in Thailand, spoke on the phone with her husband. A couple of snakes had entered the house and reportedly had a printed bed cover on the bed.
While talking on the phone, Gita walked into the room and sat on the bed without seeing the snakes. The snakes bit her and she fell unconscious in minutes. Other members of the family rushed her to a nearby hospital where she died during treatment.
Angry neighbours beat the snakes to death.
