New Delhi: India's Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said on Monday that he would visit Jammu and Kashmir  personally to take stock of the situation.

On Monday, the Supreme Court sought a report from the chief justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on allegations that it was hard for people to approach the high court. India's Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that if people were unable to approach the high court, it is "very serious." "I'm going to visit Srinagar myself," he said. A lawyer representing two child rights activists in court alleged that it was difficult for people to approach the high court. The CJI warned the lawyer that if the High Court Chief Justice's report indicates the opposite, then prepare for "consequences."

This came after when Supreme Court was on Monday hearing a bunch of petitions regarding the clampdown in the state.
