Kerala govt cuts off powe

The Kerala government snapped power on Thursday to the four apartment complexes in Kochi that violated the guidelines for coastal regulatory zone (CRZ). The move followed repeated Supreme Court stringences over the delay in demolishing 357 flats on the waterfront flats. In the early hours, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) stopped the power supply in the midst of protests by residents of flats facing demolition following the order of the Supreme Court. The water supply to the flats will be cut by tonight with a 3-month demolition action plan being chalked out by the government.

State power minister M M  Mani said the government was helpless in expressing ' regret ' over cutting off the power supply. "
