Chennai: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Tamil as "one of the oldest living languages," on Tuesday DMK chief MK Stalin urged him to take "all needed measures" to make it one of the country's official languages. Stalin said in a declaration that the Center is responsible for recognizing Tamil as an official language since Modi himself accepted the importance of the language. Modi quoted his address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday, where he ' spoke a few lines in Tamil, ' telling the meeting that it was one of the ancient languages of the world.
