Mumbai: On Saturday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the BJP emerged as Maharashtra's single largest party, and the "BJP-led coalition" will provide a stable government. The process of government formation will start after Diwali, Mr Fadnavis said, addressing party workers at a Diwali gathering in Mumbai.With the BJP's tally fell to 105, well below the Assembly's midway mark of 144, the Shiv Sena, who won 56 seats in the October 21 elections, demanded written guarantee" that the BJP would uphold "fifty-fifty" power sharing agreements.
For BJP, Shiv Sena, (and other allies) RPI, RSP, Shiv Sangram, the vote is a clear majority. It will honor the mandate. There should be no question about anyone, "Mr Fadnavis said. "The BJP is the single largest party according to the mandate. After Diwali, we will elect the leader of the legislature party and soon afterwards we will swear the new government," he said, adding that "the BJP-led coalition will provide a strong and stable government."
