Young teenage sensation Shafali Verma met her childhood idol master blaster Sachin Tendulkar in Australia. Shafali clicked a picture of her posing with the former Indian cricket captain and uploaded it on her Instagram account with a heart-warming post.
"The reason i took up this game was because of Sachin sir. My whole family has not just idolized and but literally worshipped him. Today is a special day for me that i got to meet my childhood hero. It was a dream come true for me. ?? @sachintendulkar," Shafali wrote.
Incidentally, last year, on November 9, Shafali shattered Sachin’s long-standing record of being the youngest Indian to score a half-century in international cricket when she scored 73 from 49 balls against the West Indies.
Shafali will play in the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup as the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team launches its bid for a first World Cup title.
Cricket fans can watch the live action in Star Sports Network and Hotstar from February 21 onwards.
