Congress President Sonia Gandhi appointed Ramya Haridas, MP from Alathur in Kerala as the National Secretary of Youth Congress marking a major organisation reshuffle. The Congress party also appointed five general secretaries, 40 secretaries and five joint secretaries in the youth wing.
Ramya was in the news for complaining about being heckled by BJP MP Jaskaur Meena. Expressing surprise at her appointment, Ramya said that she would work for the party and strengthen its base among the masses.
