Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor into their custody for questioning, the central probe agency has also conducted searches at the residences of his three daughters as well. Sources told media that ED is scrutinizing the residences of Kapoor’s three daughters, Rakhee Kapoor Tandon, Roshni Kapoor and Radha Kapoor. The three daughters are being questioned as it is alleged that they were the immediate beneficiaries of the scam.

The search operations are a result of the crisis in the bank with Reserve Bank of India appointing an administrator and putting a cap of Rs.50,000 on withdrawal by account holders for a month. ED is questioning Kapoor over Yes Bank deals since afternoon today in Mumbai. An ED official told media that Kapoor is being examined for his link with Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL) to which Yes Bank had extended loans.

Kapoor’s role in disbursal of loans to DHFL and the kickbacks that he received in his wife’s bank account are being probed. ED has filed a money laundering case against Rana Kapoor besides issuing a look-out circular so that he does not flee the country.
