A Mumbai special court has granted the custody of Rana Kapoor, former Yes Bank chief, to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) until March 11, 2020. Kapoor was arrested today at 4.00 a.m. after being grilled for around 30 hours and charged under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act among others.

Rana Kapoor was produced by the ED officials before a special PMLA court in Mumbai. His Worli house was raided by government officials as part of the probe. Kapoor was taken to ED Office at Ballard Pier for detailed investigations before the arrest. The development came in wake of the Reserve Bank of India imposing restrictions on Yes Bank’s functioning. ED is examining Yes Bank’s dealings with DHFL when the bank was headed by Kapoor.
