MUMBAI: Adani group is likely to contract German company Flughafen München for maintaining and operating three of its airports in India. The Adani group had acquired the three airports at Ahmedabad, Mangaluru and Lucknow through the bidding process. The Adani group had put out tenders for operations and maintenance contracts and the conglomerate had reached out to several airport majors including Changi which operates an airport in Singapore and French major Vinci SA.

The German firm which operates Munich airport has emerged as the hot favourite and sources privy to the development told media that the initial paperwork have been completed. As per the contract Flughafen München will operate and manage the airport and also impart training to inculcate requisite skills that meet global standards. Adani group is also in talks with many firms for appointing vendors for the airports including supply of efficient thermal scanners.

Adani group is earnestly looking forward to fully take over the control although it had earlier requested the government for more time citing business slowdown following coronavirus outbreak.
