The second wave of the pandemic was more disastrous than the first one claiming more human lives and disrupting livelihoods. States are now unlocking but the bad news is that third wave is around the corner and we must be prepared to tackle it unlike our response to the second wave. Although the third wave is inevitable, the negative impacts can be reduced provided we plan accordingly.

Get vaccinated

The recent dip in cases has provided a relief but doctors and scientists have warned the possible coming of third wave. Third wave can be more severe than the current one and can majorly affect children. Global experiences also suggest that the intensity of the third wave can be more dangerous. So, vaccinating yourself should be the topmost priority now.

Eat healthy

As the days of third wave is near, there might be strict lockdowns, so stock up the essentials. Eat fibre and protein rich food as it helps in making antibodies that help fight against the virus. Include mango custard, watermelon salad, veggie juice, vegetable raita, and as many as leafy vegetables in your diet. Avoid junk food.

Take care of yourself

We don’t yet know how lockdowns will look during the third wave. But chances are you’ll still be spending a lot of time at home. Pick a lockdown project to stay productive and to keep doing at least some of the activities you love. Do not miss out on daily workout or yoga, because your physical fitness is also important

Social vaccination

We tend to forget to follow norms in the period between waves and get back to our normal activities. We forget our mask or give excuses, don’t follow the social distancing norms, but this period is to curb the rising cases and bring disease under control. Following norms, sanitizing and masking is as important as other measures.

If we continue to take strong measures, it's possible that this time, the fresh wave will be managed more efficiently.
