New Delhi: Five politicians have been released from detention today in Srinagar, almost five months after they were taken into custody by the central government as a precautionary measure ahead of the scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. But the three most prominent leaders of Kashmir — National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah, and leader of the Democratic Party of Peoples Mehbooba Mufti continue to be detained. The center has not set a definitive release date, only requiring them to be released at a "reasonable" time.
