Broad gauge rail by 2021 for Mizoram: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that by 2021 Mizoram's capital Aizawl will be connected via a broad gauge railway line.Inaugurating the North East Council's handloom and handicraft exhibition here, Shah said the BJP-led government at the Center had provided more money to Mizoram compared to the UPA government. In the handicraft and handloom field, he said, there is a huge job range. He also assured the necessary assistance to Mizoram CM Zoramthanga for the development of the state.

Amit Shah also said the state had great potential in cultivating bamboo. "We took bamboo out of the list of plants that could not be cut under the Forest Act in the first term of our government. It has benefited immensely the northeastern states,
