MUMBAI: A day before he faced a floor test ordered by the Supreme Court, Devendra Fadnavis resigned as chief minister of Maharashtra. His announcement followed that of Ajit Pawar, who quit as his deputy."Ajit Pawar gave me his resignation. BJP decided that we will not indulge in horse-trading from the first day. We only decided to form a government because the NCP was with us. I will also resign since he resigned," Mr Fadnavis told reporters.
