Kolkata: The acrimony between West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and the government of Trinamool Congress (TMC) took an unexpected turn on Tuesday when the latter, through a set of new laws, curtailed his powers as chancellor of state universities. In a major move, the assembly on Tuesday saw a set of news rules being put in place that curbed the position of the governor as the state-run university chancellor. Some of the vice-chancellors ' powers have also been curtailed.
