Indian Army has utmost respect

for human rights:

New Delhi: General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) said Saturday that the Indian Armed Forces have the highest respect for human rights laws because they are guided by ' Insaniyat ' (humanity) and ' Sharafat ' (decency). The Chief of the Indian Army spoke at a National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) event at the Manav Adhikar Bhawan in New Delhi on the issue of "Preserving Human Rights in Times of War and Prisoners of War." He also added by saying that the armed forces are, in fact, extremely secular.
