Kolkata: In parts of Bengal, the internet has been suspended as violent protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, or CAA, entered a third straight day. The suspension was declared in the districts of Malda, Murshidabad, Uttar Dinajpur and Howrah, and in the subdivisions of Barasat and Basirhat in North 24 Paraganas and Baruipur and Canning in South 24 Paraganas. This comes a day after five empty trains were set on fire at Murshidabad's Lalgola Railway Station, a sixth at the neighbouring Krishnaganj Station, and 10 to 15 buses were torched in Howrah, which is near Kolkata State Capital.
