New Delhi: The pollution control body mandated by the Supreme Court has declared a public health emergency in Delhi and nearby areas as the capital has been struggling with rising levels of air pollution since Diwali. The Environment Emissions (Prevention and Control) Authority also suspended construction activities until November 5 as the region's level of pollution reached the late Thursday night "extreme plus" class. The pollution authority has also banned the bursting of crackers during the winter season.
