Protest in In Northeast Against Citizenship Bill Today

Guwahati: The 11-hour shutdown called for by a north-eastern umbrella organization of students ' organizations to demonstrate against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill started today at 5 a.m. The North East Students ' Organization (NESO), backed by other groups and political parties, will observe the shutdown until 4 pm. Security was stepped up  in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura.
